My flesh, the old man, is not "comfortable" with any of this stuff, and thank God this is so. Religion (not Christ centered) exists to comfort in the face of these "difficult and unreasonable scriptural truths;" by de-emphasizing or outright false interpretation. Trials, though mostly self-imposed, do perfect the soul (the born again spirit is already perfect), IF we maintain the attitude that they will. Otherwise, they can destroy us. The Bible says faith and works must exist together; but we remember that both are the result, or fruit, of salvation and not the cause of it.
