The answer to both is to receive the gift of pardon Yeshua died to give us - there is no other way to follow Him. When we receive this salvation our spirits are as saved and made perfect in righteousness as they will ever be throughout eternity. But we have to die to the old man daily, and as we do, the fruit of salvation will manifest; it is already a done deal. Salvation manifests the fruit; fruit does not manifest the salvation.
