BELOW IS NOT A RESPONSE TO THE QUESTIONS; IT IS A THOUGHT, A FEELING REALLY.
THIS 100 DAY CHALLENGE WAS SET UP AS A BLOG. I UNDERSTAND THAT A BLOG IS A “SHARED ON-LING JOURNAL”. I HAVE HAD TO COME TO THE REALIZATION THAT THIS IS IN REALITY A MONALOG AND NOT A SHARED ON-LINE JOURNAL. A MONALOG IS A “SPEECH YOU MAKE TO YOURSELF; A LONG UTERANCE BY ONE PERSON”. THIS FEELS MORE LIKE A MONALOG THAN SOMETHING THAT IS SHARED.
JIM BLOGS BUT HE AND I WORK TOGETHER AND WE HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO VISIT IN PERSON. A BLOG IS GOOD FOR WHAT IT WAS INTENDED FOR BUT FACE TO FACE IS A MUCH BETTER WAY TO RELATE WITH EACH OTHER.
STOP AT THE GATEHOUSE FOR A MINUTE ON YOUR WAY TO WORK AND VISIT. WHAT IS GOD DOING IN YOUR LIFE THESE DAYS . . . WHAT IS GOD SAYING TO YOU THESE DAYS . . . HOW CAN WE PRAY FOR YOU (ME IN THE MORNING AND JIM IN THE AFTERNOON)? IS THERE SOMETHING THAT WE CAN PRAISE THE LORD FOR?
Just as David was a great king because of his commitment and his sold-outness to God, we can and should follow his lead. Even though he got off on the wrong path a few times with disasterous consequences, he always came back to worship with a broken spirit and honor this commitment to his LORD. We have a tendency to neglect because we are too busy; even, and sometimes especially, because of our "work" for the Lord. We often set aside the intimate relationship with Him in order to complete our "duties," and often miss the blessings that our spiritual leaders have provided by supplying tools for further revelation of God's Word.
