Yes, from time to time there things that I perceive as impossible to overcome. However, faith that I can overcome something will not necessarily make it happen. Faith that I can overcome something sounds a little like faith in me. Abraham lived by faith in God and His word/promises. My faith in God for the future is strengthened as I look back and see how God has worked in my life. We live life looking forward but we understand life looking back.
What I see as impossible (and probably encompasses many things) may be a "fact," but it is not the truth. Believing is not the same as Knowing. Knowing is Faith. I may believe (in) God; so does the devil. If I believe God in the sense that I KNOW Him and Know what his word says then my little mustard seed faith will move the mountain. Belief (or unbelief) vs. Knowing is what separates religion from a personal relationship with God. If you take away ANY His promises from His completed work at the Cross, all you have left is religion. Knowing is intimacy with God. I want to be a Knower, not a Believer.
