Day 3 - The Flood (Genesis 6:5-7:24

Do you ever find yourself in situations where, like Noah, you are surrounded by sin? How do you resist temptation? What do you think about “judgment”?

Does God still judge people today? Is that fair?

  1. I suspect the problem we have with sin and the sin conscience is that we don't know what we have when we receive the gift of pardon that Messiah Yeshua died to purchase for us. Our spirits are as saved, sanctified and righteous as they will ever be throughout eternity, if we are saved. The fact that our flesh is not saved does not give us license to sin, as this opens the door to Satan and has sometime horrific consequences (1Cor 6:12). But the idea that every time we discover sin in our lives we fear the loss of our salvation and we need to rush to get it "under the Blood," simply diminishes the sacrifice that Messiah made for us. That sacrifice is absolutely perfect forever (Heb 10:14). I am no longer judged or under condemnation (Rom 8:1-2). Instead of trying to live a holy life to assuage God or to make up for my sins (all have fallen short anyway), this holy life ought to be the "fruit" of my salvation. I also suspect that since Messiah died for the sins and judgement of the whole world, there won't be judgement until the age of grace is completed and the "Restrainer" is taken out of the way (which be most accounts could be very soon)
